The PRIDE of Hanover Township

The Whippany Park High School Marching Band, better known as The Pride of Hanover Township, has been a staple at school and community events since Whippany Park opened it's doors in 1967. The band has performed all over the northeast in both competitive and non-competitve venues while garnering many awards and accolades. The Pride, the premier artistic outlet for the students at Whippany Park High School, is well respected in the community and has been extremely well supported by local residents, merchants, and civic organizations. In 2012, the 180 member ensemble was equal to almost 30% of the entire school population. The band has performed at places such as Walt Disney's Magic Kingdom and Epcot Center, Universal Studios Florida, New Meadowlands Stadium, Giants Stadium, Cleveland State University, and the University of Pennsylvania. The band was also invited to perform on the steps of the U.S. Capitol in Washington, D.C. where they were introduced by New Jersey Congressman Rodney Frelinghuysen. In 2012, The Pride made their first appearance in New York City's St. Patrick's Day Parade. Each year the primary focus of the ensemble is to entertain audiences with their unique style, strong musicianship, and dazzling marching ability. The program was featured in the April 2011 issue of School Band & Orchestra magazine.
